Every December, while the South Point's indoor arena runs the main WSTR Finale, we're producing a full slate of outside qualifiers right alongside it — ten days of ropings, from the Open Super Qualifier that kicks things off to the closing #8.5 on the final Sunday. If you're trying to figure out when your number runs, what it costs, or how entries actually work, here's the whole thing laid out in one place.
The Full Schedule
Office opens 7:30am daily and roping starts at 9am, except Friday's opener, which starts at noon. Gist buckles go to the average winners of every roping.

Note the pattern: the week opens with the biggest numbers and works its way down, ending on the lower, tighter-capped divisions. If you're not sure which slot fits your handicap, that's exactly the kind of question Kenna and Kersti field all week — their numbers are at the bottom of this post.
How Entries Work
You have to be entered in the 2026 Finale itself to enter any South Point Qualifier — this isn't a standalone side event. Online entries open at globalhandicaps.com, 8am Pacific, on a staggered schedule: books open November 9 for the December 4–5 ropings, November 10 for December 6–7, November 11 for December 9–10, and November 12 for December 11–13. Online entries close November 16.
If a roping doesn't fill online, you can draw in onsite the day before that division runs, starting at 10am. The #7.5 and #8.5 divisions also offer pre-entry draw options. A $40 non-refundable draw-in fee applies where relevant, waived for the #7.5 and #8.5. Payback runs 80% on entry fees of $200 or more, 75% on the $150 fee. You'll need a current WSTR or USTRC membership — a Key Card or Key Card Max works, and membership is free for renewing ropers 70 and older.
One more thing worth knowing: ropers have to be 21 or turn 21 sometime during the calendar year to enter most of these divisions — the Open, #15.5, #14.5, and #13.5 are the exceptions.
Entry Tips
Entries fill fast, so be on at the minute they open. Here's the checklist from our entry office:
